Rangeley Lakes Snowmobile Trails Report – 3/21/12

Trails are closed for the 2011-2012 Season. Thank you to everyone who donates money, merchandise and time to help the RLSC provide 150 miles of great snowmobiling.   Reports are in that even the back country riding is finished.   We have our final winter season dinner on Saturday March 24th. Mother Nature can be cruel! A major thaw Thursday March 8th, really took a lot of snow away where the trails were thin. Strange as it seems with this record warmth, it snowed about an inch Wednesday night so today, it all looks wintry outside. We see only mild, mostly sunny weather in the week ahead. [Read more...]

Eustis/Stratton Snowmobile Trails Report – 3/10/12

Friday afternoon and just took a ride around to check trails. At this time there is a lot of water on trails as well as a lot of bare spots. Decent riding can still be found once away from town however all local trails are quite bare at this time. Grooming activity is suspended until the water goes down and we can reevaluate. More snow! We have had over 17 inches over the past 10 days. We are very optimistic that the season here will go well into March. Our trails are open, we are on our regular grooming cycle, and trail conditions are the best they have been this season with good to very good conditions. There is up to 30 inches of new snow in the higher terrain. Finally, there are some good opportunities for you off trail riders. [Read more...]
