Rangeley Snowmobile Trail Reports – 2/8/12

Our Trails are open and in good riding condition.  We continue to be one of the few areas in Maine with good snowmobiling conditions.  Trails are groomed on a regular schedule.  Conditions range from fair on a couple trails to Good to Very Good on most trails.  There are still thin spots, some icy corners, bumps and dips so use caution.    Cautions on the Rangeley Trail System: ITS 84 at South Bog Stream has a logging operation on the trail.

Mother Nature is once again and again fickle! We expected big snow Friday and got only a few inches.  There was however, very heavy traffic over the weekend.  The response to the Tri-State Reciprocity Weekend was amazing.  Plus, we continue to be one of the few areas in Maine with good snowmobiling conditions, so there were lots of trailers in town.  Trails are Open but may be icy in places.

Mother Nature is once again fickle – we had a 24-hour thaw and some drizzle Tuesday.  The thaw took some snow away and iced up the trails.  We are currently assessing conditions and we should be able to work up some trails back to a loose surface.  There is a distinct possibility for snow Friday.  Trails are open but may be icy
