Trails are open. We had a major thaw over the New Year’s Weekend and lost much of our base. The cover we have is thin and firm and there are bare areas, exposed rocks and wet spots. Conditions are fair to good in the backcountry and fair near Rangeley and Oquossoc. The lakes are gray ice with a little snow cover from flurries.
