A Connecticut man was taken by helicopter to a Lewiston hospital Saturday after his snowmobile hit a ridge on Flagstaff Lake and he was ejected from the machine, according to a Maine Warden Service official.

Rangeley Snowmobile Trail Reports – 2/8/12

Our Trails are open and in good riding condition.  We continue to be one of the few areas in Maine with good snowmobiling conditions.  Trails are groomed on a regular schedule.  Conditions range from fair on a couple trails to Good to Very Good on most trails.  There are still thin spots, some icy corners, bumps and dips so use caution.    Cautions on the Rangeley Trail System: ITS 84 at South Bog Stream has a logging operation on the trail.
